If you’ve never heard of The Britannia Awards, you’re not alone. Presented by BAFTA Los Angeles, this branch of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) is said to serve as "a bridge between the Hollywood and British production and entertainment business communities."

Judging by the mingling of American starletts and beauties who hail from across the pond we’d say it was a smashing success!

Though our repsecitve cultures may differ, good taste is a universal language that both sides of the Atlantic seem to speak fluently.

Here’s a recap of our five favorite looks from last Friday’s soiree.

Mel B totally spiced up our life in this saucy crimson gown. From the high neck to the sheer side panels, our navy La Femme frock mirrors Mel’s down to the last detail. Though it also comes in red, we quite enjoy this dark and lovely version too!

Amy Schumer’s meteoric rise to the top has been as impressive as it’s been well cataloged. Here, she lets her natural beauty and charm shine in a simple, black strappy dress. This La Femme version features a completely open back and slightly scoop neck that dips low on the bust for an unexpected twist and just a bit of character.

Irish-American stunner, Saoirse Ronan, certainly has nothing to atone for in this sheer, sparkly spaghetti strap gown. If you love the look, tastemaker Sherri Hill has you covered with this black nude, plunging V back couture evening gown. This beauty is completely customizable, comes in an array of colors, and is made to your measurements. Just allow 6-8 weeks for your order to come in.

Dr. Quinn! Write us a prescription, because this lace plunge neck red satin gown is giving us a fever! If you love the overall look but simply can’t get down with a hi-low skirt for a formal occasion, try this Sherri Hill look instead. The high front slit is a good compromise between of the exposure of a hi-low style and a more traditional full-length version.

From a young age Reese has owned the red carpet. When she strolled out in this deep ‘V’ neck number, she continued her long-standing tradition of wowing on the red carpet. Sherri Hill helps you take on Reese’s ineffable charm in this strapless purple satin mermaid cut gown. If you’re ready to look poised, regal and ready for the dance floor, get to know this royal purple dress.
