Terry Costa, the leading formal and bridal wear salons in in the nation (located in Dallas), is looking for interns for its paid Spring 2025 Internship. The Terry Costa internship will provide real-world experience and knowledge in a hands-on, participatory retail environment. Interns will be trained on business operations, business and interview etiquette, customer service, buying, bridal sales, retail operations, website maintenance, social media and various aspects of sales and marketing. In addition, Terry Costa interns will be invited to attend the Apparel and Accessories markets held at the Dallas Market Center in March 2025. Terry Costa has dressed generations of brides, debutantes and beauty queens. This is a sterling opportunity to gain insider knowledge about fashion and retail from one of Dallas' most respected names in formal wear.

Total Compensation: Current consultants average $15-$30 per hour with commissions
Base Compensation: $10.00 to $15.00 an hour depending on skill set
Commissions: This position is eligible for additional commissions based on sales

Position Overview
As a Bridal Sales Consultant, your commitment to the customer and

As a Bridal Sales Consultant, you are responsible for providing extraordinary customer service and serve as an advisor, helping each Customer find the dress of her dreams and confidently complete her look.
Our most successful Sales Consultants are positive, high energy, self-motivated individuals with upbeat, outgoing personalities and excellent communication skills. They are self-sufficient and able to see their section/dressing room as their own business and run it as such. They listen to the Customer and serve each Customer in a genuine, sincere, and patient way – each and every time.
Required Education and Experience
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Previous Retail Customer Service or Retail Sales experience a plus
- Previous experience in a hospitality environment strongly preferred
- Must have leadership skills to act as the liaison between customer and management
- Must be able to work weekends
Required Skills and Capabilities
- Must have basic computer knowledge and skills
- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must have excellent communication skills, able to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers

Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome guests in a friendly, upbeat and positive manner
- Make sure that guests and others in their party are happy and feel cared for
- Learn and know products in order to advise and direct customers
- Consistently honor all service commitments, outfitting each customer head to toe
- Sell the gown, headpiece, foundations, shoes, jewelry, etc. to outfit and accessorize the bridal party
- Maximize sales and customer satisfaction by providing superior service with every customer visit
- Know Terry Costa merchandise and build on product knowledge on an ongoing basis
- Support store management by assisting in other responsibilities, including maintaining areas of responsibility, inventory counts and merchandising the sales floor
- Work independently managing their section/dressing room as their own business and run it as such
- Promote and support a “team” work environment by cooperating and helping co-workers
- Support new team members by positively reinforcing successful performance and offering assistance as needed

- Handle each register transaction professionally and in a friendly manner including ringing up sales and closing register
- Process POS transactions efficiently and comply with all policies and procedures while creating a memorable experience
- Support the achievement of email capture through positive engagement with customers
- Deliver an extraordinary experience while resolving Customers’ inquiries quickly and accurately
- Support sales goals by utilizing suggestive selling techniques to complete Customer purchases
- Professionally handle phone calls and any customer service issues
- Assist with merchandise returns and assist customers in a timely, efficient and courteous manner delivering superior customer service.
- Follow policies and procedures for markdowns, re-ticketing, and inventory control
- Assist fashion Consultants in determining customers’ needs and resolving all client issues
- Respond to phone and online inquiries to support the omni-channel customer experience
- Maintain knowledge of the sales floor and all products
- Assist store team with preparation and execution of annual inventory, set up and signage of promotional events and other duties as required
